Sweet oranges are the second largest citrus fruits cultivated in the country. Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan are main sweet orange growing states.
As with other citrus fruits, sweet orange pulp is an excellent source of vitamin C, providing 64% of the Daily Value in a 100 g serving. Numerous other essential nutrients are also present in low amounts.
Fruit becomes widely available in summer and monsoon seasons.
